Cadets of the Maritime University in the ranks of the military parade and in the column of the Immortal Regiment
On May 9, the events dedicated to the 74th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 were held in Vladivostok. The holiday began with the laying of flowers and wreaths at the monument to the Mariners of the merchant navy, who died during the Great Patriotic War. The celebration at the Maritime University began with a ceremonial line-up on the parade ground, where the Acting Rector D.V. Burov addressed officers of the Military Department and cadets with congratulations on the Victory Day. Then the column of cadets, headed by members of the University administration, with the University banner and to the sounds of the brass band, marched along Svetlanskaya, the main street of the city, to the monument to merchant seamen who died during the Great Patriotic War. Near the monument, the ceremony participants honored the memory of the heroes with a minute of silence and laid garlands and flowers to the Eternal Flame at the foot of the monument. The culmination of the celebrations was the large-scale action Immortal Regiment, in which representatives of the faculty, staff, cadets and students of the Maritime University participated. They carried portraits of the former cadets and faculty and staff members who participated in the last war. The performances of the creative groups of the University became part of the concert program on the main square of the city. The events dedicated to the 74th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany, were held in the Amur, Sakhalin and Nakhodka branches of the Nevelskoy MSU.
